Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Hepano is a polyherbal Ayurvedic formulation developed by Himalaya Wellness Company for the management of liver disorders, specifically non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and steatohepatitis (NASH). It is composed of five specific herbs: *Tinospora cordifolia*, *Ricinus communis*, *Phyllanthus amarus*, *Boerhavia diffusa*, and *Terminalia chebula*. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that Hepano offers hepatoprotection by modulating hepatic and circulating lipids, including phospholipids and ceramides, and by exhibiting anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic properties. It is used to mitigate liver damage, obesity, and insulin resistance induced by high-fat, high-fructose diets.
