Overview

**Hepatitis a virus strain cr 326f antigen (formaldehyde inactivated) + aluminum hydroxyphosphate** is an inactivated hepatitis A vaccine antigen formulation used in **Vaqta**, developed by **Merck** for active pre-exposure prophylaxis against hepatitis A. It contains formaldehyde-inactivated hepatitis A virus derived from the attenuated **CR 326F** strain, produced in **MRC-5 human diploid fibroblast cells** and adsorbed onto **aluminum hydroxyphosphate sulfate** as an adjuvant. The vaccine works by presenting inactivated viral antigen to the immune system and inducing **neutralizing antibody** responses against hepatitis A virus, thereby preventing clinical hepatitis A infection in pediatric and adult populations. It is supplied as a **suspension for injection** and administered intramuscularly.
