A combination of hepatitis B antigen (used in vaccines to induce immunity against the hepatitis B virus) and eftilagimod alpha (IMP321), a soluble LAG-3 fusion protein that acts as an immune checkpoint modulator. Eftilagimod alpha is designed to activate antigen-presenting cells by binding to MHC class II molecules and stimulating T cell responses. It is being developed primarily as an immunotherapy adjuvant in cancer settings but has also been investigated for use with antigens such as those from the hepatitis B virus. The combination aims to enhance immune responses against the target pathogen or tumor by increasing both innate and adaptive immunity[1][2]. Eftilagimod alpha is developed by Immutep and has been studied in various cancers; its development for hepatitis B was discontinued[2].
