Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This recombinant hepatitis B vaccine, developed and marketed by Keymen İlaç Sanayi ve Ticaret, is a protein subunit vaccine designed to provide active immunity against the hepatitis B virus (HBV). The vaccine is produced using recombinant DNA technology, where the hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) is expressed in yeast cells (*Saccharomyces cerevisiae*). Upon administration, the purified HBsAg protein acts as an immunogen, stimulating the host's immune system to produce protective anti-HBs antibodies. It is indicated for the prevention of infection caused by all known subtypes of HBV in adults. The formulation is typically a suspension for intramuscular injection and includes an aluminum-based adjuvant to enhance the immune response.
