Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The hepatitis B virus therapeutic vaccine is an **Auro Vaccines** preclinical heterologous prime-boost immunotherapy for chronic hepatitis B. It uses the PBS Vax platform: a GeneVax DNA-plasmid prime encoding hepatitis B virus antigens, co-administered with the GeneVax IL-12 plasmid molecular adjuvant and delivered by electroporation, followed by a VesiculoVax vesiculovirus-vectored boost. The program is designed to generate durable antiviral T-cell responses against cells infected with hepatitis B virus across all eight HBV genotypes, with the intended use as an adjunct to antiviral drug therapy to achieve functional control or cure of chronic infection. Preclinical small-animal development was completed; further development is on hold and the program is available for out-licensing or co-development.
