Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**HepBQuin** is a brand of hepatitis B immune globulin, a polyclonal antibody preparation derived from human plasma containing high titers of immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies specific to the hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg). It provides passive immunity by neutralizing HBV and preventing the establishment of chronic infection following acute exposure. Administered intramuscularly, it is indicated for post-exposure prophylaxis in high-risk scenarios such as needle-stick injuries, sexual contact with infected individuals, or perinatal exposure in infants born to HBsAg-positive mothers; it is also used to prevent HBV recurrence in liver transplant patients when given with vaccine. Developed as part of immunoglobulin therapies, it undergoes viral inactivation processes to ensure safety and potency equivalent to U.S. reference standards.
