Heptex

Heptex is an oral proprietary herbal medicinal product containing powdered extracts of **Phyllanthus niruri** aerial parts and **Silybum marianum** fruit. Each capsule contains 200 mg of Dukung Anak and 100 mg of milk thistle. It has been developed by Natural Wellness as a hepatoprotective, antioxidant botanical product for people with apparent risk factors for nonalcoholic steatohepatitis. In a randomized phase II trial, Heptex was well tolerated over 36 weeks, but changes in ALT, AST, fibrosis measures, and liver-fat measures were not significantly different from placebo between treatment groups; its clinical efficacy therefore remains unconfirmed.
