Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HEQ-001 is a microRNA-based therapeutic candidate developed by Heqet Therapeutics for the treatment of myocardial infarction. It functions by modulating miR-199a-3p, a non-coding RNA that has been shown to stimulate the proliferation of cardiomyocytes and promote cardiac regeneration. The therapy aims to repair heart tissue damage following a myocardial infarction by activating the heart's endogenous regenerative capacity. Developed in collaboration with King's College London and based on the research of Prof. Mauro Giacca, HEQ-001 is currently in preclinical development and represents a novel approach to restoring heart function by activating endogenous regenerative pathways.
