Overview

HER-2 597-626 is a synthetic peptide derived from the extracellular domain of the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2/neu, also known as ERBB2). This peptide corresponds to amino acids 597 through 626 of the HER2 protein. It has been studied as an immunogenic epitope for cancer vaccine development, particularly in breast cancer and other tumors overexpressing HER2. The mechanism involves stimulating an immune response—specifically T-cell responses—against cells expressing the HER2 antigen, potentially leading to anti-tumor effects. The sequence was designed based on regions recognized by therapeutic antibodies such as trastuzumab and pertuzumab[7][9].
