Overview

HER-2 protein AutoVac (also known as PX-104.1) is a therapeutic cancer vaccine developed using proprietary AutoVac™ technology. This immunotherapy consists of a recombinant version of the extracellular domain of the HER-2/neu (ErbB2) protein, which has been modified to include foreign T-helper cell epitopes. The design is intended to bypass the immune system's natural tolerance to self-proteins by presenting the HER-2 protein in a way that triggers both a potent antibody response and a T-cell-mediated immune response. Developed by Pharmexa, the vaccine was primarily investigated for the treatment of HER-2-overexpressing breast cancers, aiming to induce an active immune attack against tumor cells while minimizing toxicity compared to traditional chemotherapy or monoclonal antibodies.
