Overview

HER2Bi-armed T cells is an investigational autologous cell-based immunotherapy being evaluated for the treatment of HER2-positive digestive system neoplasms. The therapy consists of expanded autologous T cells that are coated ex vivo with bispecific antibodies (HER2Bi) targeting both CD3 on the T cells and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) on tumor cells. This 'arming' process allows the T cells to specifically target and lyse HER2-expressing cancer cells without requiring genetic modification. In clinical protocols, these armed T cells are typically administered intravenously in combination with low-dose subcutaneous interleukin-2 (IL-2) to enhance the survival, proliferation, and cytotoxic activity of the infused cells. The therapy is being investigated by Yi Miao for a range of gastrointestinal cancers, including esophageal, gastric, pancreatic, liver, gallbladder, and bowel cancers.
