Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HER2xCD3 BiTE is a target-specific bispecific T-cell engager (BiTE) platform designed to simultaneously bind human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) on tumor cells and the CD3 subunit of the T-cell receptor complex on T cells. By physically bridging these two cell types, the bispecific antibody triggers T-cell activation, cytokine release, and directed cytotoxic activity against HER2-overexpressing cancer cells, independent of major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I presentation. This therapeutic approach is being investigated for the treatment of various HER2-positive solid malignancies, including breast and gastric cancers, particularly to overcome resistance to conventional HER2-targeted therapies.
