Overview
Herba Desmodii Styracifolii flavonoids capsule is a botanical drug product derived from the total flavonoids extracted from *Desmodium styracifolium* (Osbeck) Merr., a plant widely used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) under the name Guang Jin Qian Cao. The capsule is primarily indicated for the treatment of urolithiasis, specifically to promote the clearance of kidney stones and reduce associated pain following ureteroscopic procedures. Its therapeutic effects are attributed to its ability to inhibit the formation, growth, and aggregation of calcium oxalate crystals, as well as its diuretic, anti-inflammatory, and antispasmodic properties. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase 4 clinical trials in China to further establish its efficacy in promoting stone clearance and managing post-operative symptoms in patients with small residual fragments.
