Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HERBAVAC CSF Green Marker is a plant-derived recombinant protein subunit vaccine designed for the prevention of Classical Swine Fever (CSF) in pigs. Developed by Coree Beijing in collaboration with BioApp, the vaccine utilizes the E2 envelope protein of the Classical Swine Fever Virus (CSFV) expressed in plant systems, such as *Nicotiana benthamiana*. This "green" technology offers a safer production method compared to traditional live-attenuated vaccines, as it eliminates the risk of viral reversion or environmental contamination. A key feature of HERBAVAC CSF Green Marker is its status as a marker vaccine, which enables the Differentiating Infected from Vaccinated Animals (DIVA) strategy. This allows for effective disease surveillance and eradication programs by distinguishing between animals that have been vaccinated and those that have been naturally infected. It is the first plant-produced veterinary vaccine to be approved for commercial use.
