HerinCAR-PD1 cells are an autologous CAR-T cell therapy engineered to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) targeting the immune checkpoint protein PD-1 (programmed cell death protein 1). By inhibiting PD-1, these modified T cells are designed to overcome tumor-induced immunosuppression and enhance anti-tumor immune responses. The therapy is being developed primarily for advanced malignant solid neoplasms and other cancer indications, with additional exploration in cardiovascular diseases and congenital disorders. The originator and main developer is Shanghai International Medical Center, with involvement from the Shanghai Cell Therapy Research Institute. Clinical trials have reached Phase 1/2 for advanced solid tumors[1][2][4].
