**HerpV** is an investigational recombinant therapeutic vaccine developed by Agenus for recurrent genital herpes caused by herpes simplex virus type 2. It comprises 32 synthetic 35-mer peptides derived from 22 HSV-2 proteins, non-covalently complexed with recombinant human heat shock cognate 70 protein and developed in clinical studies with the QS-21 Stimulon saponin adjuvant. The vaccine was designed to broaden HSV-2-specific cellular immunity, including CD4-positive and CD8-positive T-cell responses, with the aim of reducing recurrent genital viral shedding and disease activity.
