HERVLYSIS

HERVLYSIS is a preclinical oncolytic virus therapy developed by CZ BioMed Corporation for the treatment of liver cancer, specifically hepatocellular carcinoma. It is part of the RVLYSIS platform, which utilizes genetically engineered versions of the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), a common cold virus, to selectively target and eliminate malignant cells. The virus is designed to infect and replicate within cancer cells, leading to direct cell rupture (oncolysis) and the release of viral progeny that can infect adjacent tumor sites. This process not only destroys the primary tumor but also induces apoptosis and triggers a systemic anti-tumor immune response, potentially targeting distant metastases. HERVLYSIS is one of several candidates in CZ BioMed's pipeline targeting various solid tumors.
