Heshu Xiaoji Wan (和枢消积丸), also known as Xiao Ji Wan, is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation primarily used to address digestive issues. It functions by promoting digestion, resolving food stagnation (积滞), regulating qi, and strengthening the spleen and stomach. The drug is indicated for symptoms such as abdominal distension, fullness, pain, loss of appetite, belching, and nausea, which are commonly associated with indigestion and accumulation of food. Its composition typically includes a combination of various herbs, with common ingredients like Hawthorn (山楂), Massa Medicata Fermentata (六神曲), and Malt (麦芽), which are known for their digestive properties. Some formulations may also contain ingredients like Tangerine peel (陈皮), Atractylodes macrocephala (白术), Poria cocos (茯苓), and in some cases, more potent herbs like Rhubarb (大黄) for stronger purgative effects. It is classified as a non-prescription TCM and is administered orally.
