HEX15

HEX15 is a novel, long-acting Exendin-4 analog designed for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and its associated complications, such as diabetic foot ulcers. It is a fusion peptide that incorporates an albumin-binding heptapeptide tag and a thrombin-cleavable linker, enabling enhanced albumin-binding affinity, controlled release of active Exendin-4, and prolonged plasma stability. By acting as a glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonist, HEX15 promotes insulin secretion, inhibits glucagon release, delays gastric emptying, and improves glucose tolerance, body weight, food intake, glycometabolism, and hyperlipemia. It has demonstrated superior efficacy compared to Semaglutide in preclinical studies and shows potential for weekly administration.
