The hexavalent norovirus vaccine is a recombinant virus-like particle (VLP) vaccine developed by Grand Theravac Life Sciences (Nanjing) Co., Ltd. for the prevention of norovirus-induced acute gastroenteritis. Produced using the *Hansenula polymorpha* (Hansen yeast) expression system, the vaccine consists of VLPs that mimic the structure of six different norovirus strains/genotypes but lack viral genetic material, rendering them non-infectious. By targeting multiple genotypes, the vaccine aims to provide broad protective immunity against the genetically diverse norovirus strains responsible for global outbreaks. It has progressed to Phase 2 clinical development following safety and immunogenicity evaluations in Phase 1 trials involving participants aged 6 months and older.
