The hgp100 peptide vaccine is an investigational cancer immunotherapy designed to treat melanoma by targeting the human glycoprotein 100 (hgp100) antigen, also known as PMEL. It typically consists of synthetic peptides, such as the modified HLA-A*0201-restricted epitope gp100:209-217(210M), which are engineered to enhance binding affinity to MHC molecules and stimulate a robust cytotoxic T-lymphocyte (CTL) response.
