HGP1201

HGP1201 is a small molecule drug developed by Hanmi Pharmaceutical. It has been investigated primarily for urogenital diseases, with specific focus on erectile dysfunction and benign prostatic hyperplasia. The drug acts as an inhibitor of the Niemann-Pick C1-like 1 (NPC1L1) protein, which reduces intestinal absorption of cholesterol[3]. By blocking NPC1L1, HGP1201 may lower cholesterol uptake in the gut. Clinical development has included several completed phase 1 studies evaluating its pharmacokinetics and safety both alone and in combination with other agents in healthy male volunteers[2][5].
