HGS-TR2J

HGS-TR2J is a fully human agonistic monoclonal antibody targeting the tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand receptor 2 (TRAIL Receptor 2, also known as DR5 or tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 10B). Developed by Human Genome Sciences and Kirin Brewery, it was investigated for the treatment of advanced solid malignancies. The drug mimics the activity of native TRAIL by binding to DR5 with high affinity and inducing apoptosis in cancer cells. Preclinical studies demonstrated anti-tumor activity both as a single agent and in combination with chemotherapy. Clinical development reached Phase I before being discontinued[1][3][7].
