Overview

HGS1029 is a small molecule inhibitor of apoptosis proteins (IAPs), designed to block the biological activity of IAP proteins, thereby allowing apoptosis to proceed and causing cancer cells to die. It was initially developed by Aegera Therapeutics and later acquired by Human Genome Sciences for further development. HGS1029 has shown significant anti-tumor activity alone and in combination with other anti-cancer agents in preclinical studies.
