Overview

HH045 is a small molecule inhibitor of neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) being investigated for the treatment and prevention of human melanoma. Developed through a collaboration involving researchers at Northwestern University, the University of California Irvine, and Chapman University, HH045 targets the nNOS/NO signaling pathway, which is activated by UV radiation and growth factors to drive melanoma progression and metastasis. In preclinical studies, HH045 demonstrated potent anti-melanoma activity in human melanoma cell lines (such as A375 and Sk-Mel28) with IC50 values below 10 μM. In xenograft tumor models, intraperitoneal administration of HH045 significantly reduced tumor growth without apparent systemic toxicity, supporting the hypothesis that targeting nNOS is a viable strategy for melanoma therapy.
