HHK001

HHK001 is a gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) receptor agonist developed by Zhuhai Huahaikang Pharmaceutical Technology for the treatment of endometriosis. The drug is designed to suppress the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis through pituitary desensitization, a process where initial stimulation of GnRH receptors is followed by their downregulation. This leads to a significant reduction in the secretion of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), ultimately lowering systemic estrogen levels to a range that inhibits the growth and activity of ectopic endometrial lesions. HHK001 is currently being evaluated in a Phase Ia clinical trial in China (CTR20263042) to assess its pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and safety in comparison to leuprorelin acetate microspheres (Yinatong), a standard-of-care GnRH agonist therapy.
