Overview

HIG2-9-4 is a therapeutic peptide vaccine consisting of a 9-mer epitope peptide derived from the hypoxia-inducible protein 2 (HIG2), an oncoprotein frequently overexpressed in renal cell carcinoma (RCC). The peptide is restricted to HLA-A*0201 and HLA-A*0206 alleles. It is designed to stimulate the immune system to produce peptide-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) that target and destroy HIG2-expressing tumor cells. In clinical studies, it has been administered subcutaneously as an emulsion with the adjuvant Montanide ISA-51 VG for the treatment of advanced or metastatic RCC.
