Drug intelligence / Profile preview
High-Concentration Compound Lactic Acid Bacteria Metabolite JK-5G (JK-5G) is an orally administered postbiotic microecological preparation containing over 21 inactivated strains of Lactobacillus and their metabolic products. Developed by Japan Kyowa Industrial and investigated by clinical institutions including the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University and Chongqing University Cancer Hospital, JK-5G is designed to modulate the gut-microbiome-immune axis. It is being evaluated in clinical trials for promoting postoperative gastrointestinal function recovery after surgery for malignant mechanical bowel obstruction, as well as for alleviating cancer-related pain and reducing immune-related adverse events (irAEs) in patients receiving immune checkpoint inhibitors.
