high-dose influenza vaccine

High-dose influenza vaccine is an inactivated influenza vaccine formulation that contains four times the amount of hemagglutinin antigen per strain compared to standard-dose vaccines. The most widely used product is Fluzone High-Dose (including trivalent and quadrivalent formulations), which is indicated for active immunization against disease caused by the included strains of influenza A subtypes and type B viruses. It is administered as a single intramuscular injection (0.7 mL) annually for persons 65 years of age and older.
