Drug intelligence / Profile preview
High-Dose Methylprednisolone (HDMP) is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid. It exerts potent anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects by binding to intracellular glucocorticoid receptors. This binding leads to the modulation of gene expression, which in turn suppresses various immune and inflammatory responses. HDMP is utilized in the treatment of a range of conditions, including hematological malignancies such as chronic lymphocytic leukemia and acute lymphoblastic leukemia, autoimmune disorders like acute disseminated encephalomyelitis and relapsing multiple sclerosis, and inflammatory diseases such as Kawasaki disease.
