Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Himplasia is a marketed Ayurvedic polyherbal formulation developed by the Himalaya Wellness Company for the management of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and the promotion of optimum prostate and urogenital health. The formulation contains a synergistic blend of key herbal ingredients, including Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris), Puga (Areca catechu), and Varuna (Crateva nurvala), alongside other traditional components like Putikaranja, Shatavari, and Akik pishti. Himplasia works primarily by inhibiting the 5α-reductase enzyme, which blocks the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT)—the primary androgen responsible for prostate cell proliferation in BPH. Additionally, it exhibits anti-inflammatory, diuretic, and smooth muscle relaxant properties that help improve urinary flow, reduce post-void residual urine volume, and maintain bladder tone.
