HiO-630 is an allogeneic, off-the-shelf cell therapy candidate being developed by Help Therapeutics for the treatment of age-related macular degeneration (AMD). The product consists of retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) cells derived from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). The therapeutic approach involves the transplantation of these healthy RPE cells to regenerate or replace the patient's damaged or lost RPE layer, which is essential for maintaining photoreceptor function and retinal health. By restoring the RPE layer, HiO-630 aims to halt or reverse the vision loss associated with AMD. As an allogeneic product, it is designed to be a standardized, readily available treatment option. The program is currently in the concept validation and preclinical stage of development.
