Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HIP0901 is an investigational oral capsule formulation containing fenofibric acid, the active metabolite of the fibric acid derivative fenofibrate, developed as a triglyceride- and cholesterol-lowering agent in the management of dyslipidemia. As a peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPARα) agonist, fenofibric acid increases lipolysis and clearance of triglyceride-rich lipoproteins and can improve LDL-C, HDL-C, and triglyceride levels. Clinical pharmacology studies have evaluated HIP0901 for bioequivalence against marketed fenofibrate products such as Lipidilsupra and for the impact of food on fenofibric acid pharmacokinetics after single-dose administration in healthy volunteers.[1][3][5][7]
