Overview

HiPSC-CAR-T is an investigational allogeneic, "off-the-shelf" chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy derived from human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). Developed by Healios, this therapy utilizes the company's proprietary Universal Donor iPSC (UDC) platform, which employs genomic editing to reduce the risk of immune rejection, potentially allowing for administration to a broad patient population without the need for patient-specific manufacturing. The CAR-T cells are engineered to recognize and eliminate tumor cells expressing specific antigens associated with solid malignancies. The program is currently in preclinical development for the treatment of various solid tumors, including mesothelioma, lung cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, and gastric cancer.
