Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HISHS-3001 is a novel, synthetic, long-acting tri-receptor agonist targeting the gastric inhibitory polypeptide receptor (GIPR), glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R), and glucagon receptor (GCGR). Developed by Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, the peptide is designed to improve glucose homeostasis, reduce body weight, and improve lipid metabolism. In preclinical studies using diabetic db/db mouse models, subcutaneous administration of HISHS-3001 demonstrated robust reductions in HbA1c, body weight, triglycerides, and glucagon levels, showing superior efficacy compared to the dual agonist tirzepatide. Additionally, treatment with HISHS-3001 was associated with an increase in serum and liver fibroblast growth factor-21 (FGF-21) levels.
