Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Hitanercept, also known as T0001, is a recombinant fusion protein of the human tumor necrosis factor receptor and Fc fragment (rhTNFR:Fc). Developed by Shanghai Fudan-Zhangjiang Bio-Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., it is based on etanercept and acts as an inhibitor of both TNF-alpha and TNF-beta. By binding to these pro-inflammatory cytokines, Hitanercept prevents them from interacting with their natural receptors, thereby attenuating the inflammatory cascade. It is being investigated for the treatment of autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis.
