Overview

HIV-1 C4-V3 polyvalent peptide vaccine is an investigational therapeutic **synthetic peptide vaccine** developed under National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases-sponsored clinical studies for people living with HIV-1 infection. It comprises HIV-1 envelope-derived C4-V3 peptide epitopes designed to stimulate HIV-specific humoral and cellular immunity, including neutralizing antibody, lymphoproliferative, and class I-restricted cytotoxic T-lymphocyte responses. The candidate was evaluated as a multivalent vaccine alone and, in a separate Phase 1 study, with interleukin-12; it is not an approved HIV treatment or preventive vaccine.
