Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HIV-1 gag DNA + IL-12 DNA is an investigational HIV vaccine consisting of a DNA plasmid expressing the HIV-1 gag gene administered together with plasmid IL-12 DNA as a cytokine adjuvant. The vaccine is designed to induce cellular immune responses against HIV-1. The gag component typically contains an RNA-optimized truncated HIV-1 gag gene (p37) derived from strain HXB2 or other HIV-1 gag variants. IL-12 plasmid DNA is included as a molecular adjuvant to potentially enhance immune responses. The vaccine is typically administered via intramuscular injection, sometimes with electroporation to improve cellular uptake and immunogenicity.
