It utilizes a heterologous prime-boost strategy, which involves an initial priming with a DNA vaccine encoding HIV envelope antigens, followed by a boost with recombinant HIV protein antigens. The protein component is formulated with Advax, a proprietary adjuvant derived from delta inulin.
