HIVAX

HIVAX is a patented, replication-defective HIV-1 vaccine developed as both a therapeutic and prophylactic candidate for HIV-1 infection. It is designed to stimulate robust cellular and antibody immune responses. Preclinical studies in animal models (mice and primates) demonstrated that HIVAX elicits strong antibody and cell-mediated immunity. In clinical trials involving HIV-infected individuals on antiretroviral therapy, subcutaneous administration of HIVAX was generally safe, induced strong anti-HIV-1 immune responses, and significantly reduced viral load after discontinuation of antiviral drugs. The vaccine's mechanism involves presenting non-replicating viral antigens to the immune system to enhance both humoral and cellular immunity against HIV-1[1][2].
