Overview

This is a combination of three vaccines used in research settings for immunological intervention in children with HIV. - **HIVIS DNA** is a DNA-based vaccine designed to induce immune responses against multiple clades of HIV-1. - **MVA-CMDR** is a modified vaccinia Ankara vector expressing mosaic or consensus sequences from the HIV genome, used as a boost following priming with the DNA vaccine. The prime-boost strategy aims to elicit strong and broad cellular and humoral immune responses targeting conserved regions of the virus[2][3][5]. - **Cervarix** is an approved recombinant bivalent human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine that protects against HPV types 16 and 18, which are associated with cervical cancer[6][8]. In this context, it may be included as part of pediatric vaccination schedules for broader protection but does not target HIV itself. The combination has been studied primarily as a therapeutic approach to reduce viral reservoirs and enhance immune control in children living with perinatally acquired HIV who started antiretroviral therapy early[2][3][4]. The mechanism involves induction of both T-cell mediated and antibody-mediated immunity against targeted pathogens.
