Overview

Hizofito is a botanical extract derived from *Glycine max* (soybean), developed and marketed by the Brazilian pharmaceutical company Hebron Nutrition. It is standardized to contain soy isoflavones, primarily genistein and daidzein, which function as phytoestrogens. These compounds act as selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs), binding to estrogen receptors—with a notably higher affinity for estrogen receptor beta (ER-β)—to provide a mild estrogenic effect. Hizofito is primarily indicated for the relief of vasomotor symptoms associated with menopause (climacteric syndrome), such as hot flashes and night sweats, offering a non-hormonal alternative to traditional hormone replacement therapy.
