Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HJ11 decoction is a traditional Chinese medicine formula based on the Si-Miao-Yong-An prescription. It is composed of multiple herbal ingredients and has demonstrated significant effects in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, particularly atherosclerosis and acute coronary syndrome. The main bioactive components identified include quercetin, kaempferol, and luteolin. Mechanistically, HJ11 exerts anti-inflammatory effects by downregulating key inflammatory mediators such as TNF-α (tumor necrosis factor alpha), AKT1 (protein kinase B), IL-6 (interleukin 6), VEGFA (vascular endothelial growth factor A), and IL-2. In animal models, it reduces proinflammatory cytokine levels, inhibits progression of atherosclerotic lesions, improves cardiac function after ischemic injury or acute coronary syndrome, modulates gut microbiota composition favorably by increasing beneficial bacterial taxa like Bacteroides and Rikenellaceae_RC9_gut_group, mitigates oxidative stress and apoptosis in myocardial tissue, and lowers risk factors associated with cardiovascular disease[1][2][3][4].
