HJY-ATRQβ-001

HJY-ATRQβ-001 is a therapeutic antihypertensive vaccine designed to target the angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptor. Developed by the Union Hospital of Tongji Medical College at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, the vaccine utilizes a Qβ bacteriophage virus-like particle (VLP) platform to display AT1 receptor-derived peptides. This induces the production of high-titer, long-lasting antibodies that specifically antagonize the AT1 receptor, thereby inhibiting the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) and lowering blood pressure. The vaccine is intended to provide a long-acting alternative to daily oral angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs). It is currently undergoing Phase I clinical evaluation for safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity in healthy adults.
