Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HK-001 is the code name for two distinct investigational drugs. The first HK-001, developed by Everfront Biotech, is an oral small molecule drug (active ingredient EF-API-001) targeting amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). It acts through targeted inhibition of mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR) and suppression of excessive autophagy to delay ALS progression and prolong survival in preclinical models. This version has completed Phase 1 clinical trials and received IND approval from both the US FDA and Taiwan FDA[1]. The second HK-001, developed by Hefei HankeMab Biotechnology, is a monoclonal antibody HER2 antagonist intended for cancer treatment. This version targets the HER2 receptor (receptor protein tyrosine kinase erbB-2) as an antagonist and has reached Phase 1 clinical trials for neoplasms[2][3].
