Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HKG-319 is an oral soluble film formulation of the atypical antipsychotic brexpiprazole, developed by Sinopharm Ruifulai Pharmaceutical. As a serotonin-dopamine activity modulator (SDAM), brexpiprazole acts as a partial agonist at dopamine D2 and serotonin 5-HT1A receptors, and as an antagonist at serotonin 5-HT2A receptors. This film formulation is designed to provide an alternative delivery method for patients with schizophrenia, potentially improving adherence and ease of administration compared to traditional oral tablets. HKG-319 is currently undergoing clinical evaluation in bioequivalence studies to compare its pharmacokinetic profile with the reference product, Rxulti (brexpiprazole tablets).
