Overview

HKP102 is a long-acting recombinant erythropoietin (EPO) being developed by Hankook Korus Pharm for the treatment of anemia. The drug is a PEGylated recombinant protein designed to activate the erythropoietin receptor (EPOR), thereby stimulating the production of red blood cells (erythropoiesis). By conjugating the EPO protein with polyethylene glycol (PEG), the molecule achieves a significantly longer half-life compared to conventional erythropoietin, allowing for less frequent dosing. It is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
