Overview

HKP104 is a monoclonal antibody biosimilar of omalizumab (Xolair) currently in preclinical development by Hankook Korus Pharm. As an anti-IgE antibody, HKP104 is designed to bind to circulating human immunoglobulin E (IgE), specifically at the Cε3 domain where IgE would otherwise bind to the high-affinity IgE receptor (FcεRI) on mast cells and basophils. By sequestering free IgE, the drug prevents the activation of these effector cells and the subsequent release of inflammatory mediators, thereby mitigating allergic responses. The program is currently in the process development phase, targeting allergic asthma as its primary indication.
