HKP105

HKP105 is a bevacizumab biosimilar being developed by Hankook Korus Pharm, a South Korean biopharmaceutical company. It is a monoclonal antibody designed to target and neutralize vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), a key protein that promotes angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels). By binding to VEGF, HKP105 prevents its interaction with receptors on the surface of endothelial cells, thereby inhibiting the blood supply that tumors require for growth and metastasis. As a biosimilar to the reference product Avastin, HKP105 is intended for use in anti-cancer therapy. The drug is currently in the preclinical stage of development, with ongoing efforts focused on process development and initial characterization.
