Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HKUB-003 is a preclinical-stage live attenuated influenza vaccine (LAIV) developed by Hong Kong Universal Biologicals for the prevention of seasonal influenza. The vaccine is based on the proprietary DelNS1 platform, which utilizes an influenza virus vector with a deleted non-structural protein 1 (NS1) gene. Since NS1 normally functions to suppress the host's innate immune response, its deletion renders the virus replication-deficient in normal cells while significantly enhancing the induction of interferons and other cytokines. HKUB-003 is designed to provide broad protection against multiple seasonal strains, including Influenza A (H1 and H3 subtypes) and Influenza B.
